Holy crap is this ever slow today. Another lengthy update...
So this was the last long weekend of the summer. That's kind of depressing but I had a good time. Friday night we (Teresa, Autumn and I, later on Karissa joined) went out to Bomber's golf course for the weekly blues night. There were supposed to be 3 acts in town for the long weekend but we only managed to catch Catfish (Stephenson). We got there around 9:30 so that might've been why we missed the rest. Anyway, it was an enjoyable show as always with Catfish. Pictures and some videos can be seen here. We left around midnight after his set was done. I tried to buy one of his CDs but he's ran out. Maybe one day I'll get one.
Saturday was mostly spent at the Dickinson County Fair. We spent the day there with Autumn. We first watched Teresa's sister-in-law, Chris Ann, do her horse events (egg balancing, barrels, etc.). She didn't place with her horse but it was entertaining anyway. I had never watched that stuff live before. During the barrel racing, there was a pretty serious accident. The girl that went after Chris Ann went a little too fast into the first barrel. The horse cornered too quickly and knocked the barrel over. The horse's front feet landed on the barrel and slipped off either side. This means the front of the horse was going down. As this happened, the barrel turned and the back feet stepped on it and went out too. The horse feel kind of forward and to the side, pretty much rolling onto the girl who was riding. After the horse and the girl fell, it couldn't get up, making things worse. It finally got up but the girl didn't. She was on the ground crying, not moving. An ambulance arrived much later than it should've but luckily the girl got away with a broken leg and a few cuts. The rest of the day was spent wandering around looking at the stuff available for sale and on display. I wanted to see the lumberjack show and the heavy horse pulls but we never got to either event. I also wanted to buy some fresh saltwater taffy but forgot about that. Next year I'll get that stuff all done. Saturday night we took a real long drive out to The Ranch (part of Bomber's golf course and the whitewater rafting experience). We got there late again to only catch the end of Catfish's set (see pictures at the link above).
Sunday morning and most of the afternoon was just spent mostly being lazy. We went out to Teresa's mom and dad's later in the afternoon. On the way there, we saw a couple on a motorcycle pulled over. Why? They weren't wearing helmets. I really don't understand people that don't wear them, whether there's a law or not. I guess if you don't have a brain, there's no sense in protecting it. That evening, her dad, her sister's boyfriend and I went out fishing. I caught a few fish that could've been kept but tossed them back. I also think I caught the world's smallest bass. It was probably 3" long and 3/4" tall.
Monday we tried the fishing thing again but for some bigger fish (pike). No luck with that but we did get snagged up a lot. That was my excitement for the weekend. Back to the bore of not working....
One more thing...5 Flavour Lifesavers now suck. I bought a roll yesterday since I hadn't had any in years. They're supposed to be "new flavours" accourding to the package. First colour was green. I remember green tasting good (lime I think the flavour was), not like watermelon (which is an awful flavour for ANY kind of candy). Red and grape are still the same. I haven't chewed my way down to any other colours yet but I'm still disappointed about green.

I also loved green Lifesavers. It's possible that this news ruined my day.
