I watched Charlie Brown's Christmas special last night. It had been many years since I had seen that. I noticed that Charlie Brown was called stupid and a "blockhead" a couple times throughout the show. You would never see that in today's cartoons. I love old cartoons. Kids are too sheltered this days. If you're an idiot, you should be called as such. None of this "I don't want to hurt his feelings and send him on a murderous rampage" horseshit. Not long ago, I even remember hearing something that school sports teams are no longer allowed to cut anybody from the team. What the hell is that all about? Jimmy's sucks but he's still allowed to play. Good to hear parents these days are supporting their kids being half-assed at everything instead of trying to get them to improve. Anyway, that's enough of a rant today. Short update again but at least it's a little more common now instead of wordy monthly updates. Also, check out my new links on the right-hand sidebar.

I've never seen Charlie Brown's Christmas Special. Most of the Charlie Brown movies they have that I have seen I've never really been a fan of. I like the comic, just not really the shows so much.

Also, it's not about kids being cut from the team. Take this for example. You have 16 kids try out for a basketball team. You need 15 (three strings). Why cut the 1 kid that isn't as good as the others? You may as well keep him and let him practice and maybe play in the odd game against the teams you can easily wipe out.

See, there's usually more to it than people think there is. I would know, because I was in that situation when I played basketball in grade 9. They just kept everyone that tried out. Me and another girl probably could have been cut. But, we still practiced like everyone else. Sure we didn't get a lot of playing time. I pretty much only played against three schools, and it was generally recognized that we were the shittier players, but oh well. I guess it was about being a part of something.

That's an understandable situation but having a gigantic team because nobody can be cut is a different scenario all together and that's the one that pisses me off.
