So last night we went and picked up a Christmas tree. We got a 6' Balsam for $20. After tying it to the roof of my wagon, we went through the drive-thru at McDonald's. I noticed that a lot of people seemed to not follow very close with the tree on top. I don't know if they couldn't see the twine holding it on or if they were just generally scared that it might fly off. Anyway, after getting it up the stairs and put into the stand, we found that the stand we already had wouldn't hold a tree with a smaller trunk diameter (the bolts bent and let the tree sway greatly front and back and side to side). We went to K-mart and found ourselves an old-style Martha Stewart metal stand for $10 that works very well (I recommend it if you need one. It's got red legs and top ring with a stamped galvanized steel bottom). While there, I spied some Hershey's Kisses on sale. I had already tried the cherry kind (kind of like a cherry-filled chocolate without the actual cherry inside) but I bought some more again because I liked them. I also saw they had the Candy Cane kind. I had wanted to try them for awhile and got them as well. They're very tasty with their minty candy cane flavour as well as little bits of crunched up candy cane bits in them.

Hmm. Not a fan of real trees, mainly because I don't like the clean up, and I like the shape of the fake tree we have.
I've never heard of Cherry Hersey's Kisses, OR the Candy Cane kind. I'm not a fan of anything with cherry goo in it (I dislike chocolate covered fruit of almost any kind). But the Candy Cane ones sound really good! I'm also a fan of mint chocolate things. I guess that's one thing you and I always had in common. You should send me some.
Well, I dislike fake trees partly for the reason you like them. I don't like seeing the same tree every year. I like having a different shape or even a different type of tree each year. Also, I dislike the look of fake trees because, well, they look fake. I've never seen a nice fake one. And I've looked at plenty in stores, even the $200+ ones. I also like the smell of real ones. Part of my dislike for fake trees probably comes from my one grandma. She has the same fake tree every year. She doesn't even take the decorations or lights off. She just throws a big garbage bag over it and stashes it in her basement. I also grew up having a real tree every year and my other grandma always had one too.
The Cherry kisses aren't on this site but the other kind is. I think next time I'd like to try the truffle ones and the "Dulce de Leche" kind because it sounds fancy. If you want any of them, let me know and I can buy some for you: http://www.hersheys.com/kisses/products/index.asp
I'll take dulce de leche and candy cane kisses please!!! :)
